With more than 28 years’ experience as a professional DJ and 1400 events in his repertoire, John has earned a reputation throughout the Tampa Bay and Orlando areas as the go-to guy for creating fun, unforgettable events. John’s extensive musical background gives him the edge over other DJs. As a professional drummer, John worked for years performing both on stage and in the recording studio. Service and Set-Up
Your DJ will meet with you weeks before your event to thoroughly review all the details. We have no pre-set play lists. What music we play and when we play it is based on your individual tastes, as well as the mood and response of your guests.
Every engagement includes the following at no extra cost*:
- You’ll get pre-event consultation, DJ, master of ceremonies, state-of-the-art audio system for ceremony, cocktail and reception, dance lighting effects, set-up and breakdown included. We can also provide uplighting and video.
- Two-hour set-up and one-hour breakdown.
- Master of ceremony services.
- Two-person team for Weddings.

Noriel Castro
Noriel Castro has over 25 years event experience and event planning. He has worked for the last 18 years as a DJ working exclusively with John Strandberg, Owner of DJ by CJ. His professional demeanor and attention to detail, has played a major role helping DJ by CJ to be the premiere mobile DJ Company in the Tampa Bay area.
Nick Bockholt
Nick is a self-taught musician in multiple instruments and with his passion for music, he wanted to take his skills to the next level and perform in a live setting. Nearly 12 years ago he bought his first DJ controller to venture into a new side of music. He began his journey as a DJ with ties not only in the banquet industry, but the nightlife industry as well. He fine-tuned his style to deliver a one-of-a-kind event that caters directly to the specific wants and needs of the guests. Nick is a Master at keeping your guests engaged and he will keep them laughing and smiling the entire time. Nick is also very patient and will help you eliminate any concerns through the stress of planning your big day from start to finish. Since Nick has made it to the top of his game, he has had one goal in mind for all of his clients…to “Make Sound Memories!”
James Rayburn
Meet DJ JRay, a seasoned open format DJ with over a decade of experience. He started spinning at age 14 and has since performed at countless events throughout Florida. His dynamic sound and passion for music will keep any crowd dancing all night long. Jay’s unique high-energy mixing ability and charisma as a host will have your dance floor packed and everyone smiling at your event.

Steven Maldonado, also know as DJ Malado, is one of Central Florida’s best DJs. Steven has over fifteen years of experience in the entertainment industry and has been a DJ for clients such as The Seminole Hard Rock & Casino to some of the premier night clubs in Florida and was a DJ for on the pro street team for 93.3FLZ and mix100.7 Tampa’s Hottest Radio Stations. Joshua Rodgers
Meet Josh! Josh would DJ for friends at various events such as birthdays, graduation parties, and house parties. Less than a year after,Josh began the transition away from the sporadic, late-night, club scene and he looked to use his skills and passion to make lasting memories for all. Joining “DJ by CJ” in early 2019, Josh has transitioned effortlessly into the wedding entertainment industry. Josh’s talent as a precision DJ and emcee, as well as his focus on perfection has made him a valuable member of team “DJ by CJ”.
